Meet Scot
Scot French has called Maitland home since 2012, when he and his family bought their mid-century modern A-Frame home in the Manor Road neighborhood. Scot fell in love with the city’s lakes, parks, and historic landmarks. He and his dog, Indy, became regulars at Lake Lily.
Scot has served on the Maitland Public Library Board of Trustees for a decade. He has played a key role in planning the new library and advocating for resources that benefit all. An avid cyclist, he has explored the city’s bike paths and is dedicated to making Maitland safe and accessible for walkers, cyclists, and motorists alike.
A passionate historian – he has a Ph.D. in History and teaches at UCF – Scot has worked to preserve and share Maitland’s unique story. Now, Scot is running for City Council to protect Maitland’s residential neighborhoods, enhance its parks and recreational offerings, and ensure the city remains vibrant and welcoming for all.
